The proposal for an extension to a two bedroom semi-detached house was restricted by the planning requirement that it could not be two storey.

The extension designed had a slightly higher roof line than single storey, which enabled a mezzanine to be included. This space is used as a study, or for relaxing and sleeping. It also provides an almost double height living room on the ground floor, together with a study or bedroom, and a cloakroom.
